First things first....
If you are using herbs the way normal people want to use drugs and medicine then you have missed the boat on natural healing. Herbs are great for emergency purposes and to have on hand when you slip up and make a mistake (you really shouldn't have eaten that and you knew that but you did anyway and now your stomach hurts), etc, but if you are relying on them to maintain health then you don't have your body working in tandem with you like you should. You have a miraculous self healing body, and when properly fueled, you should not get sick or get diseases. So if you need to review more of the nutrition information, definitely do so, and check out my FREE 21 day meal plans guides for recipes and how to.
How to use herbs
I use herbs--however--nothing is as powerful or as potent as fresh herbs. The longer they sit on a shelf the more they lose nutrients. And then there are some herbs like lemon balm, that just aren't effective unless they are fresh. I highly recommend starting a garden asap so you always have the fresh herbs you need. Especially emergency type ones.
My top list would be:
Plantain--it is an astringent. It sucks the poison out of bites and stings.
Echinacea--Powerful healing herb. Long used to treat sickness* and many have used it to cure rattlesnake bites.
Lemon Balm--A Beekeeper's best friend! I put a poultice of the fresh herbs on my daughter's bee sting and it immediately took the poison out and by the end of the day there was no trace of the sting!
Peppermint- great for upset stomachs after eating heavy foods, also heartburn
Stevia - my favorite sweetener after....
Honey - not really an herb but the medicinal properties of it are incredible!
Marshmallow - helps with coughs and phlegm*
Red Raspberry leaves - excellent for pregnant women (and really it is great for men too! I drank as a tea daily)
*(if you have these symptoms start the 21 day meal plans right away. The recovery plan is the most powerful thing you can do).
If you want to buy herbs, really research the source you are buying them from. I highly recommend Mountain Rose Herbs. They have a freshness guarantee. Also bulk discounts are available.
